Trish Clowes released her debut album ‘Tangent’ for Basho Records in November 2010, receiving praise for it’s integrity, luminousity and ambition. The album features her ensemble of the same name, as well as Gwilym Simcock and Kathleen Willison. In the Autumn of 2010 Trish toured the UK with her band, generously supported by Jazz Services.
Trish has won awards from the Musicians Benevolent Fund and the PRS for Music Foundation. Following the success of her album, Trish was selected by Jamie Cullum, Gilles Peterson and Jez Nelson to perform on the BBC Introducing stage at Cheltenham Jazz Festival 2011. Tangent – the group - were recently featured during the Proms Plus Late series at the Royal Albert Hall as well as supporting Regina Carter and performing on the BBC 3 Jazz Line-Up stage at the London Jazz Festival 2011.
Current projects include her quartet with Chris Montague - which had the honour of Martin France guesting on drums in recent months - a songs band with Kathleen Willison and Ross Stanley, ‘The Odd Trio’ with Louise McMonagle and Tim Giles and guesting with Dan Messore’s ‘Indigo Kid’ for their Spring tour.
Spring 2012 will also see a collaboration with Luke Styles’ Ensemble Amorpha, Iain Ballamy/Thomas Stronen’s Food and Rory Simmons’ Fringe Magnetic.
Trish’s second album has just been recorded at Curtis Schwartz’s studio in Ardingly and will be released later in 2012. With her quartet as the core ensemble, guests include a string quartet, Gwilym Simcock and Kathleen Willison.
